About the Artist

Anita Shuffer is founder and owner of Art by Anita, a company focused on the production and sale of works of art in a variety of different mediums, oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastels. Anita has a large inventory of completed works in each of these mediums for sale and is accepting commissions for portraits, landscapes, animal portraits and still life.

Anita’s works have been featured in galleries in the greater Atlanta area, Dawsonville, Gainesville and Ellijay as well as on a number of luxury cruise lines.

Anita retired in 2013 from her position of SVP Flight Operations at Coombs Aviation Services to focus on her passion for art, prior to this Anita held corporate positions at Xerox, America West and US Airways.

Anita has studied under some of the modern masters and has had the opportunity to also study abroad, Spain, Italy and the UK, as well as in the United States. Anita is also a graduate of the Virtual Art Academy.

Anita holds a master’s degree with a major in computer science and is also a licensed commercial pilot.

Anita’s love for travel has heavily influenced her art. She has had the opportunity to set foot on all seven continents in the last few years. Paintings of animals from koalas to penguins, of landscapes from deserts to icebergs and of people from the Irish to the Chinese festoon her art studio walls.

Most days Anita can be found in her art studio on the shores of beautiful Lake Sydney Lanier in Georgia, nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, with her partner of twenty years, Jeff, and their two cats, Uno and Due. Here Anita has transformed her home into a refuge of tranquility complete with multiple fountains, garden water features and designed the landscaping to take advantage of the natural plant life and foliage so that each season is highlighted in color and beauty.
